Musings of a Fat, Black Muslim

Musings of a Fat, Black Muslim

Fiction takes me away... It's always allowed me to hide from the atrocities of life. Create a fantasy world that I could control and live within forever.

Recently, since becoming a 'real' adult, I've figured out that it wasn't safe or logical to always reside in my fictional realms. And that it's perfectly fine to live in the real world sometimes. In addition to age, I've become a lot more fearless, open. Something I could've never accomplished a few years ago because of the fear of the embarrassment. What would people think if they really knew, well, me?

Now that all matters so much less. So, in this section, you will get to experience me through the close lens of these personal stories and essays.

This is a judgement-free zone for you to explore, laugh, cry, contemplate, and find self.
